Syncing RSS between iPhone and iPad
WeaveRead 1.2.0
Reading on your phone in the morning and your iPad in the evening only works if both know what you have already read. WeaveRead Pro does that through your own iCloud, with no extra account.
What syncs
Subscriptions, which posts you have read, your favorites, and app settings. Mark a post read on iPhone and it shows as read on iPad.
What does not
Article text, links, and images are not uploaded. Each device fetches articles from the feeds itself, which keeps the iCloud copy small and your reading content out of it.
Turning it on
Sync is part of WeaveRead Pro. Unlock Pro, then turn on Use iCloud Sync in Settings on each device, signed in to the same iCloud account. Sync Status in Settings shows the last result.
Turning sync off stops that device from sending or fetching sync data. It does not delete what is already stored in iCloud.
Turn on iCloud sync in WeaveRead
- Sign in to the same iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad.
- In WeaveRead Settings, tap Unlock WeaveRead Pro.
- Turn on Use iCloud Sync on each device.
- Check Sync Status to confirm it has run.
Questions
Do I have to buy Pro on each device?
No. Use Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account on the second device.
Does sync need a WeaveRead account?
No. It uses your private iCloud account.
Why do articles load again on the second device?
Because article content is not synced. Each device downloads articles from the feeds directly.
