WeaveRead

A simple RSS reader for iPhone

WeaveRead 1.2.0

An RSS reader collects new posts from the sites you choose and shows them in one place. You do not need an account or a service behind it; the app checks each feed itself. WeaveRead is built to do that and stay out of the way.

What a good reader should do

Show you what was published, in order, and let you get through it quickly. That means a fast way to mark things read, a way to focus on one source, and a reading view that does not fight the article.

It should also respect the feeds: check them on a sensible schedule and not download what has not changed.

How WeaveRead does it

All your feeds go into one timeline, newest first. Filter to a single source, to unread, or to favorites. Swipe a post to mark it read or keep it as a favorite, or long-press to mark everything above it as read.

Articles open in a reading view with their images, galleries, and long pictures. When you want the original page, open it inside the app or in your default browser.

On iPad, subscriptions sit in a sidebar next to the timeline.

What it leaves out

There are no ads and no sign-up. In this version there is also no OPML import, no folders, no search, and no full-text fetching for summary-only feeds. If you follow a few dozen sites and want a calm place to read them, that may be exactly enough.
